Valerio, an Italian humor
How did we meet?
I met Valerio at a social event. This very tall and sturdy Italian man walks up to our table, decides to invite himself to sit down and starts talking about his passion for wine. At the end of his little 5 minutes monologue, he requests if any of us would ever love to purchase wine, don’t forget to call him and he follows it up by passing out his very well made 3 fold postcard.
So.. it has gone awkward…
Some at the table turns away and continue their talk with others. Since I genuinely love wine and try to have a glass whenever I have the chance to, I decide to give this very awkward tall man a chance by getting to know him.
Aren’t I nice?
After a few personal questions like “When did you come to Los Angeles?” and “Why did you decide to import wine?”, Valerio opens up and turns out to be a very humble man with a quirky sense of humor. By then, couple of other people also turned their attention to him and all was good. At some point Valerio told me that he just recently got married and says he wish we’ve met when he was getting married. So instead, he asked if I could do him the honor and replace “his very outdated and ugly professional photograph of his head”. I cheerfully agreed.
And hurray! Here we are!
We meet a few weeks later and following is the product of the shoot. At the end of it, he was so happy that he gave me a bottle of his very own Valerio Wine. Although it was very dry and not the taste I care for, it was the heart that counts. Thank you my Italian Friend!
