A Travel Themed Boutique Wedding – The Modern Time Fairy Tale
Meet Kristi and Gary
Kristi and Gary…where do I even begin. This is one of my favorite stories to tell. Kristi and Gary’s travel themed boutique wedding, at the Hotel Ménage in Anaheim, was spectacular. As a Santa Monica based Los Angeles wedding photographer, I am truly grateful they were my clients. This is a story that shows how a couple’s true love, and their celebration of love, can inspire everyone.
When I chatted with Kristi for the first time, she knew exactly what she wanted. She was easy-going and polite, and had a vision for a magical travel themed wedding. When she described to me their passion for travel and what they had planned, I was very excited and couldn’t wait to see how it’d come together. Of course, also for selfish reasons, to photograph such awesome and unique décor is part of what makes it fun for me.
The Wedding Planner – Maria @ Deelish Events
Maria came into the picture a little later. She jokingly tells me later on that this actually happens a lot, where a couple would hire a photographer first, and not reach out to her until towards the end of their wedding planning process, which a lot of times causing some issues that could’ve been avoided sooner… From our very first email communication, Maria was on point. She was clear on what she needed from me what she will do next. Although Kristi and I already signed our contract and decided on the photography package, Maria asked to review it anyhow which I thought was very thorough on her part. On the wedding, I spotted Maria right away. She was gorgeous and charming. It’s definitely a spot on wedding planner that you’d see from a movie. Throughout the day, she was very on point, organized and mostly she made the wedding run smoothly. It made my job, as a wedding photographer easier and allowed me to explore and maximize my creativity with the couple’s photo shoot.
Modern Fairy Tale
Now back to the wedding…Their wedding was not your typical princess-bride happily ever after wedding. Instead the best way I can describe it, is to say their wedding portrayed the fairy tale that happens after “the happy ending.” It wasn’t just a celebration of a new beginning; it was a celebration of what they always were as a couple and what they will also be. It was a celebration that will continue until the end of time.
You can clearly see the couple’s happiness and love emitted on their faces in the photos. They both shine bright and I’m thrilled by how lovely these shots turned out. Someone I knew once said: “There is no modern formula that shows us how to be happy in a long lasting relationship in today’s world.” Perhaps Kristi and Gary is our modern day example, because they seemed to have uncovered that formula!
