I am not subtle when it comes to getting to know people. Many say that I am blunt. Close friends think I give good advices because I go straight to the point. I think the key is to listen and care about what the person who is talking wants in life without judgement. That has always been where I am coming from when interacting with my friends and my clients.
I am a Lifestyle Portrait photographer at heart and Published Retoucher based out of Santa Monica in Los Angeles. I like photographing people in their natural environment, living, laughing, and being themselves.
My Mission as a Photographer
There is nothing more fascinating and precious than people and their stories. Photography to me is not just to obtain what is beautiful on the outside but also the great mystery that lies behind the beautiful faces of my subjects. My greatest mission as a photographer is to use my camera and capture your story so that you can look back and remember your life’s greatest adventure, the person you were in that moment on that day and the way you existed in life. That way, you can pass down your story for generations and when your children’s children look back, they can get a sense of who you were and where they came from.
What makes me different?
I was raised by a mother who believes in “natural beauty”. As a published beauty retoucher, I spent years honing and perfecting the craft of natural look. We all have good and bad skin days. Camera, lighting and certain angles can do funky things to the way we look. A lot of this can be corrected in post processing. Not every photographer in the industry offers this extensive service because it requires a different skillset from photography. I was lucky to be mentored by several very talented retouching professionals while working in a world-renowned photo studio and am now passing this gift onto my clients.
Fun facts that made me the photographer I am today:
My childhood was spent on three different continents: Asia, Europe and North America. On top of that, I changed school every 6 months, so I was always the “new kid” in class. As a child, I thought it was the greatest misfortune that I had to constantly make new friends. As an adult, now I appreciate the diversity in people and culture. This helps me understand and appreciate different visions and needs of my clients.
After age 16, I moved to Los Angeles, which I now call home. I live with my loving husband, Jonathan and dwarf bunny Tutu whom we occasionally refer to as “our rabbit daughter”. Family now is the center of my life and I look forward to celebrating each and every one of my client’s new adventures together. We love traveling, discovering new food and watching movies.
